United are dealing with a troublesome transfer window with several players coming and going.

After signing Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Red Devils have ran into problems trying to get Harry Maguire.

The Leicester man is top of their wish list but the Foxes are demanding an extortionate £90m for his services, however an £80m agreement appears close.

But incomings are not the end of the problems at Old Trafford – with their prized jewel in Pogba looking to leave.

The Frenchman stated earlier this summer that he intends on taking on a new challenge, a claim his agent Mino Raiola reiterated before the squad jetted off for a pre-season tour of Australia.

Real Madrid are the frontrunners for the World Cup winner but United have slapped a £150m fee on him.

The Red Devils have never been interested in letting him go but there could be a twist to the tale.

The Metro report that Solskjaer has been so impressed with Pogba’s professionalism in training that he believes he wants to stay.

And United will open contract talks with the midfielder in a bid to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old signed a long-term contract when he joined in 2017 and talks were scheduled for 2020 over an extension.

But the Metro are reporting that those plans have been brought forward as Solskjaer intends to build his team around him.

Meanwhile, United legend Bryan Robson has urged Pogba to let his football do the talking and ignore his agent.

“He’d be in my team all the time,” said Robson. “One thing fans should realise is sometimes agents get involved and say things that don’t come from the player.

“Players should concentrate on their own careers and make their own decisions rather than rely on agents.

“It’s your career – you do what you think is right. That’s how I see players today. Get on and play how you want to play.

“He’s a great player. He should concentrate on that. He’s contracted to Manchester United and he should concentrate on playing for United.”
