Philippe Coutinho set for Barcelona crunch talks after Man Utd clash – Chelsea eye deal

The Brazilian has struggled for form this season and is no longer a regular starter, with Ernesto Valverde preferring Ousmane Dembele.

Coutinho was expected to take La Liga by storm after quitting Liverpool last January.

But reports have suggested he’s unhappy and is looking to leave the club this summer.

The Premier League seems his most likely destination and tonight’s opponents United have been heavily linked.

However, it seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to look elsewhere as Coutinho won’t move to Old Trafford out of respect for former club Liverpool.

According to Sport, the 26-year-old also feels he’ll never be accepted at United after their fans constantly booed him throughout the first leg last week.

The report claims Chelsea are are keen to bring Coutinho in as a replacement for Eden Hazard, who is expected to join Real Madrid.

The transfer revelation comes amid news that:

“Barcelona are hopeful Philippe Coutinho will change his mind and stay put.”

But any potential business for the Blues this summer seems uncertain after they were slapped with a transfer ban, which could yet be delayed.

Sport also claim PSG hold a heavy interest, with Neymar keen to link up with his international team-mate.

Yet Coutinho’s reason for wanting to quit Barca is to be the main man at a team and he may not want to play in his friend’s shadow.

United travel to the Nou Camp this evening for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, hoping to overturn a 1-0 deficit and set up a potential clash with Liverpool in the final four.

And immediately after the game, Coutinho will meet with Barca chiefs to discuss his future.

Sport claim the club are hopeful the playmaker will change his mind and stay put.

The report suggests he may be swayed, stating Coutinho wants to win trophies and maintains a good relationship with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Tonight’s clash kicks off at 8pm.
