Well, folks, 2018/19 is coming to its conclusion and it has certainly been a forgetful one for Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho failed, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is struggling. Aside from about a three-month period where United looked to be heading in the right direction once again, things have been pretty terrible.
During that initial spell with Solskjaer at the wheel, the Red Devils were blowing everyone away with some scintillating displays. The standout performer in that period was without a doubt, Paul Pogba.
Today, the PFA Team of the Year was announced with the BBC being one of the first on the uptake. To my surprise, a certain mercurial Frenchman was included.
While it makes you feel pretty proud that we have the only non-Liverpool or Manchester City player in the XI, does Pogba really deserve to be in there?
I can count his good games on my fingers and for a player who cost £90million I’m not sure that warrants a spot in the side. When we need him the most, Pogba often wilts and goes missing. For me, turning up in the big games is what makes you an elite player and the 26-year-old has seldom done that.
Nonetheless, congratulations Pogba. Hopefully, this doesn’t further boost an already overinflated ego…
