Manchester United’s pre-season tour is now well underway, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continuing to put his players through their paces.
Next up is a game against an excellent Inter Milan team managed by Antonio Conte. Before that, though, two familiar faces have been spotted in pre-season training for the first time ahead of the new campaign.
The pair of United stars have now joined up with the squad after being given some extra time off due to personal reasons – and it’s great to see both Fred and Matteo Darmian now involved with the group.
As per usual, the great snapshots come from the official United Twitter account…
If I’m being brutally honest I’m surprised that Darmian is still at the club. He has struggled to cement himself into the starting line-up over the last couple of seasons, and now with Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the mix you feel as though his minutes will only further reduce.
He has always displayed an exemplary attitude mind, hence why United don’t mind bringing him on tour and getting the Italian up to speed in the case that he’s still here beyond the deadline.
As for Fred, the next twelve months are huge for him. He’s fresh off getting married and now he’ll be looking to acquit himself within that Red Devils midfield. This is an excellent opportunity for the former Shakhtar man to prove his worth – and I genuinely hope we see a better showing from him now he’s had time to settle into life in Manchester.
