David de Gea – Made an excellent save to deny Dele Alli. Was quiet aside from that. 7/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Probably his quietest tour game so far, but the defensive diligence and attacking intent was there. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Dealt with Harry Kane rather well. Looked cool and calm. 6/10

Marcos Rojo – Was pretty decent in dealing with the Spurs threat. I’d like to see more composure on the ball, though. 5/10

Ashley Young – Had a couple of shots at goal but that was about it in an offensive capacity. 5/10

Scott McTominay – Bossed Tanguy Ndombele throughout. Sprayed some excellent passes forward and was a real physical presence at the base of the midfield. Superb. 8/10

Paul Pogba – Looked threatening throughout. This is the Paul Pogba us fans all want to see on a regular basis. The attacking intent and positive attitude was always there. 7/10

Andreas Pereira – Brings some fight and energy to the midfield. He’s taking up the mantle from Ander Herrera in terms of aggression. Slotted an excellent pass into Martial for the goal. 6/10

Mason Greenwood – Kept drifting in to get involved as all the attack from United was coming down the left. 5/10

Daniel James – The main threat. He was hurting Spurs with electric pace and directness, so-much-so that the Wales international was being targeted for nasty challenges, including an unnecessary stamp from Sissoko8/10

Anthony Martial – Took his goal well. Linked up with James excellently and could have had another. A top drawer performance. 8/10

Subs:

Sergio Romero – Unlucky to concede via a deflection. Commanded his penalty box well. 6/10

Diogo Dalot – You can’t forget about Dalot. His willingness to bomb forward was great to watch. 6/10

Eric Bailly – Lasted less than 10 minutes before being stretchered off with injury. He’s becoming a real liability. Not enough time to mark.

Victor Lindelof – Solid. Won some key headers and tackles. Marshalled the backline well. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Relatively quiet as the threat was coming down the other flank. Didn’t really get going. 5/10

Nemanja Matic – Looks slow. Perhaps the intense heat was playing its part but you expect better from a seasoned pro. 3/10

Fred – Sloppy on the ball at times. Had two pops at goal that had the Spurs keeper somewhat worried… 4/10

Juan Mata – Shown glimpses of his ability. The one-two with Gomes was sensational. 6/10

Jesse Lingard – Looked lively and threatened with his pace. Lacked that final shot or pass. 5/10

Angel Gomes – Lovely play to score his first senior goal. Started the one-two and coolly slotted it home. Top drawer performance all-round. 7/10

Marcus Rashford – His fitness levels are crazy, to play with such intensity in that heat takes some doing. He’ll have a great season. 6/10

Axel Tuanzebe – Looked solid once again alongside Victor Lindelof. 6/10
