Player Ratings: Man United beat Leicester 2-0, Lindelof superb, Maguire solid as Reds make it into CL

Well, they made us sweat, but the Red Devils are back into the Champions League. This is not a drill, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be going toe-to-toe with the best managers across Europe. I feel for Brendan Rodgers and his team, but it’s time for our Man United player ratings vs Leicester City.

David de Gea – Had a quiet afternoon in truth. Jamie Vardy never really tested our Spanish number one. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Made some super slide tackles. He looked a little lost in the final third, though. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Probably his best performance of the season when we needed it the most. Cool, calm and composed, won tackles, headers and looked strong throughout. Excellent from United’s Man of the Match. 9/10

Harry Maguire – There were a couple of dodgy tackles but putting those aside, I thought captain Harry was in control of the situation well. 7/10

Brandon Williams – Looked comfortable on the ball and tried to get forward where possible. He passed a big test in Luke Shaw’s absence. 7/10

Nemanja Matic – Sloppy when in possession and careless at times. 5/10

Paul Pogba – Probably United’s best midfielder on the day, though even he misplaced a fair few passes. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Scored the all-important penalty that had United on their way, but he wasn’t having a good game until that point. 6/10

Mason Greenwood – Drifted in and out of it over on that right-hand side. I’d prefer to see him more central as he went large periods of the game as a bystander. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Looked like he needs a long rest. His best season in a United shirt had a pretty unspectacular conclusion. 4/10

Anthony Martial – Was pretty sharp until the final pass or shot. Won the penalty which sealed United’s third-place finish. 6/10

Subs:

Jesse Lingard – Nice to see him get a goal.

Scott McTominay – Was on the end of an awful Jonny Evans tackle.

Odion Ighalo – Not enough time to mark.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – Not enough time to mark.
