Sergio Romero – His unbelievable clean-sheet record continues in between the sticks for United. The best back-up in the world was solid again today. 6/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – A pretty typical display. Solid defensively, willing to get forward but his final ball was lacking. 6/10
Victor Lindelof – Dealt with the threat relatively well. I’d like to see him perform better with the ball at his feet, though. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Pretty similar to Lindelof on the night, really. He was great in the air. 6/10
Brandon Williams – Dealt with Adama Traore very well. Worked his socks off on both sides of the ball. Wasn’t afraid to get stuck in and went toe-to-toe with Pedro Neto. Man of the Match. 8/10
Nemanja Matic – Did well when it came to winning the ball back but he was so sloppy in possession. 5/10
Fred – Struggled in the one-on-one battle with Ruben Neves. That task was made all-the-harder the moment he picked up a yellow. 5/10
Juan Mata – Passed, moved, and was United’s creative hub. Took his goal supremely well with a lovely little dinked finish. Quality. 7/10
Daniel James – Showed his pace on more than one occasion, though he did have a few chances – but those were wasted. His early-season brilliance has now worn off. 5/10
Mason Greenwood – Very quiet. United just couldn’t get him into the game at all – though he was often left in a two-on-one situation which made it hard. 4/10
Anthony Martial – Drifted in and out of the game but his work-rate never faltered. Timed his pass perfectly into Mata for the only goal of the game. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – Barely touched the ball before picking up an injury.
Andreas Pereira – Didn’t really do anything to influence the game.
Jesse Lingard – Pretty quiet.
