Player Ratings: Wolves 1-2 Man United – Poor Reds dumped from cup

Sergio Romero – Made a couple of good saves but was poor for Wolves’ second. 5/10

Diogo Dalot – Pretty average. His final ball was poor and positionally he went missing too often. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Had a solid first half but got worse as the pressure began to mount. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Looked nervous again, which is a real worry. Perhaps should have done better for Wolves’ opener. 4/10

Luke Shaw – Jota made him look silly. His crossing was garbage until right at the death. Got beat far too easily. 3/10

Nemanja Matic – Struggled with the pace of the game. Perhaps it’s time to look at Scott McTominay as a long-term option. 3/10

Ander Herrera – Kept it simple when in possession. Began to tire as the game wore on which is understandable. 4/10

Paul Pogba – Showed a couple of bursting runs but that was about it. Must do better. 4/10

Jesse Lingard – Just didn’t get into the game. Looks nowhere near full fitness. Hopefully, that’ll change after the international break. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Scored late, but he was pretty poor. The decision-making was all wrong and he was far too selfish. 3/10

Anthony Martial – Not sure how he survived the 90 minutes. Didn’t get into it. 3/10

Subs:

Andreas Pereira – Didn’t get on the ball enough.

Juan Mata – Not enough time to mark.

Scott McTominay – Not enough time to mark.
