But Guardiola has been backed to lead his side to three consecutive league wins for the first time since rivals Manchester United did it 10 years ago,
According to Betfair, City are 4/6 odds-on favourites to win their third title in a row.
Their nearest competition is Liverpool, who finished just one point behind the champions in a final-day thriller last season.
The Champions League winners have been put at 12/5 to get their hands on a first top-flight title for 30 years.

But the rest of last season’s top six face a challenge.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “The countdown to the new Premier League season is well underway and following today’s announcement of fixtures we now have an idea of how things could potentially play out.
“The teams will have to pull off an against the odds story if they they want to be crowned Champions.”
At the other end of the table, the promoted sides are also facing bad news.
Sheffield United are favourites to drop straight back down at 4/6, according to Betfair.
And Championships winners Norwich are second on the list at 10/11.
While Aston Villa, who beat Derby 2-1 in the play-off last month, have been put at 6/4.
Last season’s survivors who have been put most likely to drop are Burnley (15/8), Brighton (2/1) and Newcastle (4/1).
