Last season’s title race went all the way down to the last game as Manchester City pipped Liverpool to the trophy by one point.

Chelsea finished strongly under Maurizio Sarri to clinch third place and return to Champions League football, while it’s another season in the Europa League for Arsenal and Manchester United.

Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff all failed to avoid the drop and this year’s new boys – Aston Villa, Sheffield United and Norwich – will all be hoping to steer clear of the bottom three this time around.

So, who is your team playing on the opening day? When are the big derbies? Are you at home on Boxing Day? And lastly, who is your team playing on the final game where points really do matter?

PREMIER LEAGUE TV FIXTURES CONFIRMED

OPENING DAY FIXTURES

The Premier League season gets underway on Friday, 9 August with Liverpool kicking off proceedings at Anfield when Championship winners Norwich are the visitors.

Champions Manchester City begin the defence of their title in the early kick off on Saturday (12.30pm) when they travel to West Ham.

But all eyes will be on Sunday’s mouthwatering tie as Chelsea and Manchester United go head to head on the opening weekend.

It could be the first game of the Frank Lampard era for the Blues if the Derby boss comes in as Maurizio Sarri’s replacement with the Italian set for Juventus.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa return to Premier League action with a visit to the capital when they face Tottenham, while Arsenal boss Unai Emery will hope to get off to a good start with maximum points against Newcastle.

City took four points off the Merseyside outfit last year and they travel to Anfield in November before the return fixture is played towards the latter end of the campaign in April.

That’s because five Premier League matches will take place on the first weekend and five on the second, ensuring that each team gets one week off.

BOXING DAY FIXTURES

A tasty London derby between Crystal Palace and West Ham is the headline match on Boxing Day when all 20 teams are due to play.

FINAL DAY FIXTURES

If this year’s final day is anything like last year’s then we’re in for a treat as it was all to play for between Liverpool and City.

Should a similar scenario play out this term, City host Norwich while Liverpool could be counting on old boss Rafa Benitez to do them a favour once again.

Chelsea host Wolves, Tottenham make the trip south to Crystal Palace, while Arsenal play Watford.
