Sir Alex Ferguson part of sales pitch as Man Utd try to sign super-talented midfielder: report

Yesterday, we covered a story from the BBC in which it was claimed that Jude Bellingham and his parents were at Manchester United’s AON Training Complex on a visit. The mega-talented midfielder is plotting his next career move, with the Red Devils seemingly in the hunt to sign the starlet.

Well, one pretty big detail we missed states that Sir Alex Ferguson was involved in the sales pitch on Monday, as Bellingham and his parents met the great man during their stay in Manchester. That’s according to the Daily Mail, cited by the Daily Star.

Apparently, Fergie went on the charm offensive, similarly to how he did with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney when he was manager at Old Trafford. If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know about Bellingham’s talents, then I’m not sure what does…

Bellingham can’t sign a professional contract until the summer when he turns 17, but no doubt he’s doing his due diligence and weighing up all the options – hence his visit to Carrington this week.

Apparently, both Edward Woodward and Matt Judge were also present at the meeting, for the player who could fetch a transfer fee as big as £30million over the summer. For a sixteen-year-old, that’s absolutely insane.

Hopefully, Bellingham and his family were left impressed. There’s no better place in England to hone your trade than Old Trafford. Now, if Borussia Dortmund offer up a suitable package, they may well be our big challengers. Right now, though, you have to fancy our chances at landing the next big thing…
