Earlier in the week, we covered a story in which it was claimed that Manchester United goalkeeper, Kieran O’Hara, was banned by the FA for allegedly biting an opponent…

Yesterday, Sky Sports News offered us another update on that story. Unfortunately, for the Red Devils, it isn’t good news.

The 23-year-old United shot-stopper has been banned for six games after being found guilty of biting an opponent while playing for Burton Albion – where he’s spending this season on loan.

O’Hara supposedly bit Sammie Szmodics during a 1-1 draw with Peterborough while The Posh were preparing to take a corner. Now, O’Hara will miss the next month of action for the League one club…

Brewers boss Nigel Clough was adamant in his defence of O’Hara, so I’d be surprised if this is the last we hear of this. If the Mancunian wants to clear his name then this one will undoubtedly rumble on for a fair while yet…

For now, O’Hara has also been handed a £2,500 fine for the incident, despite the fact that Burton’s initial appeal was rejected. For now, The League One outfit have stated that no further comment will be made.

It’s a shame because O’Hara is trying to force his way into the first-team mix at Old Trafford. This is undoubtedly going to further hinder his chances at that…
