Manchester United could have themselves a Romelu Lukaku problem going into the new season. The Belgium forward’s future is still up in the air and we’re yet to see him on tour amid interest from Inter Milan.
Well, it seems as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already planning in the event that Lukaku leaves. According to Sky Sports News, United will target the talented 23-year-old striker, Moussa Dembele, should the Belgian depart from Old Trafford.
Apparently, Dembele is on Solskjaer’s shortlist, with the Baby Faced Assassin liking the Frenchman as he’s an out and out number nine as opposed to Nicolas Pepe who is viewed as a similar player to Alexis Sanchez.
Understandably, United haven’t budged on their valuation of Lukaku with Inter yet to pay what the Red Devils are asking for. However, it is wise to have an option – and Dembele would be an excellent addition.
The 23-year-old is a forward who has scored goals wherever he has been, including Fulham, Celtic and now Lyon. In his debut season with the Ligue 1 club, he found the net on 20 occasions, and he could form the perfect tandem with Marcus Rashford should United solidify their interest with an official bid.
