Over the summer, Manchester United Football Club took the decision to sell Romelu Lukaku and let Alexis Sanchez leave on loan. Both without replacement.
It seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has realised there’s a void in his squad, though. Constant links to Erling Braut Haaland definitely make sense.
This morning, though, Sky Sports ran a story in which the United transfer target has been visiting clubs, two to be precise, amid rumours he’ll make a January transfer away from RB Salzburg.
Unfortunately for us Red Devils fans, Old Trafford wasn’t one of those places. Instead, Haaland would visit both RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old started his day at Leipzig before flying to Dortmund, who are looking to sign a striker amid Paco Alcacer injury problems.
United, Liverpool and Juventus are just a few of the world-class teams who are keen on Haaland and competition in him is obviously going to be fierce.
The young man has a huge decision to make about his future. His options are plentiful, but for United to seriously get themselves in the mix, you’d feel that we have to deliver Champions League football to Old Trafford next term – while praying the teenager doesn’t make a move this January.
It’s a long shot, but perhaps Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s working relationship with Haaland from their time together at Molde could be the difference?
