Manchester United’s 2018/19 is in the past (thankfully). Forward planning for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already underway as he looks to return this club back to its former glories.
On a daily basis it feels as though we’re being linked with a new player and last night, Sky Sports News threw Ryan Sessegnon’s name into the ring.
The British media outlet say that United have ‘made contact’ with Fulham over the potential signing of the talented 18-year-old, with the Englishman reluctant to play another season of Championship football.
Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are also keen on signing the versatile left-sided player, although the Reds are the only club to have initiated talks with Fulham to this point.
After a stellar Championship campaign, Sessegnon struggled during his first season in the Premier League. That doesn’t take away from his talents, though, and it’s easy to forget just how young this lad is.
At the very least, Sessegnon would provide some decent competition for Luke Shaw, and with just one year left on his Fulham deal, United could get him at a decent price.
Again, it continues with the trend of United looking at young talents with something to prove rather than splashing the cash on those marquee signings. I like it.
