All has gone pretty quiet in regards to signing Jadon Sancho, though apparently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been talking to the Englishman on a regular basis…

The last we heard came back on August 27th. Journalist Jamie Jackson claimed that United were still intent on signing Sancho, which at the time was encouraging.

Overnight, the Daily Express ran a story, quoting journalist Fredrik A Flitvedt. Apparently, Solskjaer has talked to the 20-year-old Sancho several times about a proposed United transfer.

What’s interesting is that Flitvedt says that Sancho wants the move, while the Englishman remains United’s top target. It’s also claimed that Solskjaer has given Edward Woodward a simple message -‘Fix it!’ and get the deal done.

It’s common knowledge that Sancho has been the main aim all summer. At the start of the window, it did look like a deal would be done, however, the fees involved are just astronomical. Given the global pandemic that’s hitting the football economy hard, maybe it’s not wise splashing £100m+ on a player.

However, if Solskjaer wants him badly enough, United should do everything they can to back their man. Personally, I still think this saga has one more twist and turn left in it, though the Reds better act quick to sort out a deal before the season starts.

Do we think the transfer will happen?

I’m going to say yes. I’d be surprised if Sancho is a United player before the season starts, though don’t forget we have until October to come to a compromise in terms of the transfer fee.

Expect it to go right down to the wire, but in the end, United will cave and sign Sancho. In total, I think we’ll only see two or three players added to the squad, but Sancho may well be one of them…

Would Solskjaer signing Sancho show United mean business? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
