Manchester United U23’s start their new Premier League 2 campaign away to Leicester City this afternoon. It is Ricky Sbragia’s first match in charge of United’s youth team in their bid to gain the experience needed to propel themselves into the clubs first team in the future. The U23’s were lucky not to get relegated from the top-flight in the U23 league last season, overcoming a lack of attacking players with the ability to win matches, something Sbragia will be looking to change this season. The match is broadcast live on MUTV this afternoon live from Leicester City’s training ground. The team news is as follows:
Olosunde, Warren, Williams, Mitchell;
Riley, Boonen, Kehinde;
Scott, Richardson, Hamilton, Sang, Buffonge
United will be looking for the victory this afternoon after a lot of huffing and puffing in this fixture last season. Liverpool and Sunderland both won their matches this weekend with Liverpool scoring two goals and Sunderland scoring one. If United win by three goals or more, just like the first team they will be top of the league. Robert Huth is the most experienced Leicester City player to be involved today with United having no first team players involved. Possibly Luke Shaw and Ashley Young could be involved in the coming weeks in a bid to regain fitness ahead of their respective returns to the first team.
