Manchester United’s 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea on the Premier League’s opening day was good news for everyone – except Alexis Sanchez who’s probably even further out-of-favour at this point.
Personally, it feels as though a transfer away from Old Trafford is in the best interests of all involved. Though Sanchez’s huge wages continue to be a major concern.
Well, according to the usually reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, the struggling 30-year-old star is a transfer option for Inter Milan, as Antonio Conte looks to further strengthen his attack before the Serie A kicks off in around one weeks’ time.
Apparently, Conte was keen on signing Edin Dzeko from AS Roma but the forward has since signed an extension in the Italian capital, hence why the Inter boss is broadening his search.
Sanchez is amongst four players on Conte’s shortlist, alongside Fernando Llorente, Ante Rebic and Arkadiusz Milik. It goes without saying that the United man is the most glamorous name, though his form over the last eighteen months has to be a major concern.
Then you have to factor in his outrageous wages. You’d imagine that wherever Sanchez ends up, United will continue to foot the lions-share of the bill until his contract runs out in 2022…
At this point I just think it’s best he gets away from Old Trafford under whatever circumstance. It’s tough watching him struggle and Sanchez is only having a negative impact on the dressing room.
