It has been a difficult summer off the field for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side amid speculation over Paul Pogba’s future and Ed Woodward’s struggles to get new signings through the door.
Manchester United eased to a comfortable win against Perth Glory in the first game of their pre-season tour of Australia.
Marcus Rashford and James Garner came off the bench in the second half to net.
Starsport brings you the five things we noticed from the friendly.
Daniel James will be a fans’ favourite
The Wales international was electric on his first appearance since sealing a £15m switch from Swansea City.
He showed glimpses of his talent in the first half before being taken off at the break.
James will quickly become a fans’ favourite at Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba has still got it
The World Cup winner has admitted he is open to leaving the club but he lit up the game with a stunning assist for Rasford’s opening goal.
If Pogba does stay then Solskjaer will hope to get the most out of the midfielder.
Marcus Rashford in goalscoring mode
The England international is criticised for his lack of goals but he hit a cracker to open the scoring.
Solskjaer is set to play Rashford through the middle this season so he will be expected to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
A scoring run in pre-season could build the hotshot’s confidence.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be a hit
The £50m signing replaced Diogo Dalot at the break to make his debut.
He impressed at right-back, making numerous tackles and spraying the ball about the park.
Wan-Bissaka will be expected to up his attacking output but his defensive game is stunning.
James Garner could be the next star
The 18-year-old came on as a late substitute for Luke Shaw but made the most of his minutes on the pitch, scoring a superb goal.
He made his one and only appearance for United in February and could get his chance to shine this season.
