The six Fantasy Football must-haves for next season in the Premier League

The six Fantasy Football must-haves for next season in the Premier League

While there are still deals to be completed and signings to be made, some players are already essential picks.

The problem for many fans looking at points leaderboards from last season is the hectic summer international schedule.

The Africa Cup of Nations and the Copa America have put a strain on many Premier League managers, let alone Fantasy Football bosses.

With the difficulty of who will be fully match fit for the first weekend in mind, Starsport has identified the top five must-haves with less than three weeks until the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

Sebastien Haller – 7.5

West Ham’s club-record signing has all the attributes to flourish in the Premier League as in imposing yet technically gifted striker.

Regular goals are finally expected of a Hammer frontman and Manuel Pellegrini has thrown £45m at the 25-year-old Frenchman to break the club’s striker curse.

At £7.5m, he will serve well as a second striker to any Fantasy fan in need of a cheaper partner for all the obvious big dogs.

Robertson – 7.0

Liverpool have plenty of players fans will be all over next season, but Jurgen Klopp is bound to rotate his team now and again to keep them fresh.

One area, however, he still cannot afford to do this is at left-back as Andy Robertson has even less competition for a place as things stand following the expiration of Alberto Moreno’s contract.

The defender bombed on repeatedly last term to provide a hack full of assists and his stamina knows no boundaries, so the £7.0m price-tag shouldn’t put any avid player off.

Wan-Bissaka – 5.5

While Manchester United are not necessarily an assured thing when it comes to clean sheets these days, Aaron Wan-Bissaka could bring points from other areas.

Bonus points could easily be collected consistently due to the young full-backs cracking tackles and ability to shut out opposition wingers.

He has already shown in pre-season for United, too, that he is not afraid of getting forward due to his pace, so £5.5m looks good value for a £50m star who will play every game.

Aubameyang – 11.0

As one of last season’s three Golden Boot winners, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is an obvious pick.

But the reason to have him in from the start comes down to his perfect preparation for the new campaign.

Aubameyang has not had a disrupted or delayed pre-season compared to the likes of Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, so the Gabon international should be firing from the off.

Pulisic – 7.5

Chelsea’s new attacker should reap the rewards for Fantasy fans as he will play further forward than his position suggests.

“Goals and assists from the USA international will bring players extra points”

Like Mane as a midfielder last season, Pulisic will likely form part of a front three at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard yet is not classed as a forward.

Therefore, goals and assists from the USA international will bring players extra points and he is a definite starter for Lampard as one of Chelsea’s only two permanent summer additions.

Ederson – 6.0

The Brazilian shot stopper continues to be an integral cog in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Not only does he have the luxury of playing for a team that enjoy the lines share of possession – he also gets involved himself.

Ederson is sure to be kept quiet, although he responds when called upon, but unlike nearly every other keeper he is good for an assist or two throughout the year – marginal gains.
