Top Man United transfer target reiterates his desire to leave current club this season: report
AS Monaco’s Fabinho has reiterated his desire to leave the principality club this summer, according to the Daily Mail. Apparently, the 23-year-old wants to follow Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy out of the Monaco exit door and to the Premier League.
That’s where Manchester United come in. The Red Devils have been keen on the brilliant Brazilian all summer, and this could be the indicator that Edward Woodward needed to turn that interest into an official bid.
‘ I feel good, there is nothing to say about my situation, the club knows my will.’ Fabinho told reporters after Monaco’s 4-1 victory over Dijon.
‘I hope we will continue this way and that Monaco will still be okay.’
It certainly sounds like a ‘come and get me plea’ from the midfield enforcer, who, in my opinion, wants to try his hand in the Premier League now that he’s conquered Ligue 1.
He’d be a fantastic signing if United could somehow pull it off, but I have my doubts now that we’ve already brought in Matic in that area of the field. I guess we do have to remember that he can also play as a right-back, but is he really good enough to displace Antonio Valencia? Probably not.
With time running out in the transfer window, we’ll just have to see if we can get another deal over the line.
