Mourinho blocked De Bruyne move
Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne was stopped from teaming up with Jurgen Klopp when he left Chelsea.
The Belgian has revealed a text from Jose Mourinho convinced him not to seek a move to Borussia Dortmund.
“When I came back to Chelsea the next summer, a few German clubs wanted to sign me,” he told The Players’ Tribune.
“Klopp wanted me to come to Borussia Dortmund, and they played the kind of football that I enjoy.
“So I thought maybe Chelsea would let me go. But then Mourinho texted me: ‘You are staying. I want you to be part of this team’.”
Pogba asking price set
Real Madrid will have to splash out £130m to sign Manchester United star Paul Pogba this summer.
The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a switch to the Bernabeu despite appearing much happier at the club since Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
According to Marca, United chiefs have told Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, that they won’t entertain lower offers.
The World Cup winner hinted at a switch to La Liga earlier this season.
He said: “Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football.”
United want Dembele
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly chasing former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.
The Frenchman has scored 18 times for Lyon this season and United see him as the ideal replacement should they offload Romelu Lukaku.
According to the Mirror, they face competition from Arsenal.
Unai Emery is keen to bolster his forward line and is targeting Dembele as an alternative for Danny Welbeck, who is out of contract this summer.
Arsenal want Tottenham star
The Gunners are eyeing a shock swoop for Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgian has a £25m release clause in his contract and is a long-term target of Manchester United.
The Sun claim Arsenal are looking for bargains this summer and are considering poaching Alderweireld from their fierce rivals.
Only three players have made the move between the north London pair since 1985.
Liverpool on red alert
Liverpool and Real Madrid could be set for a transfer battle this summer over RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The 23-year-old has just a year left on his contract, meaning the German club must cash in to avoid losing him for free at the end of next season.
And Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff hinted that he’ll likely be sold this summer.
“We want to extend it with him but he has signalled to us that he would rather not,” he said.
Chelsea want youngster
Maurizio Sarri will look to rival Real Madrid for Borussia Dortmund striker Alexander Isak if their transfer ban appeal is successful.
Chelsea have been barred from signing players for the next two windows but they’re hoping to get the decision delayed.
The Mirror claim they’re keeping tabs on Isak, who has scored 11 times during a loan spell at Willem II.
But they’ll face competition from Real, who are plotting a squad makeover under Zinedine Zidane this summer.
