Hudson-Odoi submits transfer request
Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed in a transfer request at Chelsea, according to reports.
The 18-year-old forward is attracting serious attention from German giants Bayern Munich and they’ve have three offers rejected for his signature.
But now, Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol has tweeted to say the forward is trying to force the move.
Solhekol tweeted: “Callum Hudson-Odoi has put in a transfer request. Wants to leave Chelsea and sign for Bayern Munich.”
Perisic wants to LEAVE
Arsenal and Manchester United target Ivan Perisic has handed in a transfer request at Inter Milan, according to reports in Italy.
Manchester United have chased Perisic for a number of months to no avail but it now appears Arsenal want the Inter star as they search for attacking reinforcements this month.
CalcioMercato report that the 29-year-old has informed manager Luciano Spalletti that he wants to leave Inter Milan.
Perisic has admitted of his dream to play in the Premier League.
Man Utd Barella move
Manchester United will be able to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella if they stump up €50m (£43m).
Italian publication Gazetta dello Sport claim the Red Devils face competition from Inter Milan but the Serie A giants are struggling with Financial Fair Play constraints.
They state Barella would be interested in a move to the Premier League and United could now take advantage of the situation.
The report states, according to Sport Witness, the player and the club would find it ‘impossible to say no’ should United launch an offer of £43m.
Chelsea have also been weighing up a move for Barella this month with Maurizio Sarri looking to find a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who joined Monaco.
Barcelona prefer Man Utd for Coutinho over PSG
Manchester United would have a better chance of signing Philippe Coutinho than Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
Reports in Spain suggest PSG have been left furious over Barcelona’s recent signing of Ajax sensation Frankie de Jong.
PSG had been hopeful of signing the midfielder but Barca swooped in with a £65m bid to secure his signature that will see the 21-year-old join in the summer.
That has already added to the bad blood between the two clubs after PSG convinced Neymar to leave the Nou Camp for the French capital for a world-record fee in 2017.
PSG are now ready to retaliate by pursuing Coutinho with the Qatari-owned Parisians ready once again to splash the cash.
The Mirror claim United may struggle to compete with the financial wealth of PSG but the frosty relationship between Barca and PSG could work in United’s favour.
Arsenal approach Perisic
Arsenal have made an approach for Inter Milan star and Manchester United target Ivan Perisic, according to BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein.
“Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic,” he said on Twitter.
“#AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit.
“Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger.
“Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad.”
Sturridge focused on football not future
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge insists he is not thinking about his own future and staying focused on helping his side in the Premier League title race.
The 29-year-old’s contract expires this the summer meaning he will be a free agent.
“I’m staying focused on right now,” he told BBC Radio 1 Extra. “You’ve got to live in the present, you can never live in the future.
“I’ve been at Liverpool a long time and I’m happy too. I want to try and help bring the team some success, to win a trophy with them would be amazing.
“We’ve come close before, finals, almost won the Premier League before but we didn’t quite do it.”
West Ham confident over getting Gomez done
West Ham are confident they can get a deal for Maxi Gomez done before Thursday’s deadline.
Celta Vigo are holding out for the Hammers to pay his release clause of £44.3m rather than negotiate a fee.
But Manuel Pellegrini’s side are prepared to meet that figure, which would make the striker their club-record signing.
The Mirror say West Ham are confident of getting a deal done, having lined the Uruguay international, 22, up to replace Marko Arnautovic long term.
That is despite the Chinese Super League target outlining his desire to now stay at the London Stadium beyond January.
Higuain warned over Liverpool flop
Chelsea loan signing Gonzalo Higuain has been warned the Premier League won’t be an easy ride for a 31-year-old foreign striker.
Liverpool legend and ex-Premier League star Dietmar Hamann is not convinced English football will suit the Argentinian.
Asked if Higuain, who has joined Chelsea on loan until at least the remainder of the season, will be a success, Hamann wrote in his Racing Post column: “I’m not sure.
“I do wonder if the Premier League is the place for a striker like Higuain, who is 31 and has only scored once since October.
“I remember when Liverpool signed Fernando Morientes in 2005 – he was one of the best in the business but he struggled at Anfield.
“He struggled with a very different style of play and after 18 indifferent months he went to Valencia where he took off again.
“Chelsea have got two strikers in the same category in Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata and they are both finding it hard.”
Hazard ‘has Real Madrid agreement’
Eden Hazard has struck a deal to join Spanish giants Real Madrid according to transfer expert Ian McGarry, who thinks the Chelsea forward will move at the end of this season.
McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast: “Eden Hazard, 18 months left on his contract, but has been, as he said in and interview with France Football this week, at Chelsea seven years.
“He has won every domestic honour there in that time.
“He does have ambitions to do something differently and as we said right at the beginning of this season, it is my belief that he already has an agreement to join Real Madrid which is up to him whether he takes it or not.
“I believe he will. Therefore, Chelsea’s attempts to get him to sign a contract will fail.”
Man Utd snubbed by Benatia for money
Juventus defender Medhi Benatia rejected the chance to sign for Manchester United on Thursday, according to reports.
United tabled an £8.6m offer which matched the highest bid Juventus had received for the defender.
But the Red Devils were not prepared to match the enormous wages Benatia was set to earn elsewhere.
The Morocco international could have pocketed £3.2m-per-year had he chosen a move to Old Trafford.
Al-Duhail of the Qatar Star League offered him a three-year contract worth £4.3m-per-year plus bonuses.
And according to SportItalia, 31-year-old Benatia turned down one of the world’s biggest teams in United for the improved salary.
Key Arsenal exits transforming club – Neville
Unai Emery is keen to get rid of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey so he can bring in players to “transform the club”, according to Gary Neville.
He told the Daily Mail: “Having said (Arsenal are improving), Emery needs four or five transfer windows to get things right.
“It does not surprise me that Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are on the way out.
“Emery wants players that can transform the club so he has to be able to ship players out, to be able to correct things.
“It is like a cultural shift, a big mentality shift. But he needs to do that and needs time.”
Coutinho helped Liverpool beat Chelsea to Alisson
Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last January – but the Brazilian has been helping his former side with transfers even after leaving.
That’s according to Liverpool insider and JOE.co.uk senior football correspondent Melissa Reddy.
She told Joe.co.uk: “Michael Edwards had been tireless in ensuring Liverpool were not just part of the conversation to land Brazil’s No.1 [Alisson], but that they were directing it.
“The sporting director put in the work with Roma’s hierarchy, while Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho – the latter having departed for Barcelona – extended Liverpool’s sales pitch during international duty.
“Real Madrid, but more especially Chelsea, had designs on securing Alisson and so the Reds had to operate smartly and be patient to conclude a deal.
“Liverpool, and specifically goalkeeper coach John Achterberg, had been monitoring the Brazilian’s ascent since 2013 when he was still at Internacional.
“Two things were certain: he’d be worth the wait and he’d be worth more than his price tag.”
£43.3m Gomez wanted as West Ham record breaker
West Ham are set to sign a replacement for Marko Arnautovic – despite the striker saying he’s keen to stay.
The Austrian striker last night claimed he’s not going anywhere and wants to stick around.
But West Ham aren’t taking any chances, by going for Celta Vigo frontman Maxi Gomez ahead of the Thursday’s transfer window deadline.
Starsport understand the Irons are ready to meet the sky-high £43.3m release clause in his contract.
The 22-year-old Uruguayan will become the club’s record purchase should a transfer go through.
