CHELSEA DONE DEAL
Chelsea have completed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus.
The 31-year-old striker has ended a loan spell at AC Milan to link up with Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Higuain, who will wear the No.9 shirt, said: “When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it.
“It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.
“I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.”
Higuain to Chelsea update
Gonzalo Higuain has put pen to paper on a contract to join Chelsea.
The 31-year-old arrived in England today to complete the loan switch from Juventus.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted: ”Gonzalo Higuain has just signed his contact with Chelsea. Here we go!”
Liverpool are signing French prospect Billy Koumetio.
The 16-year-old defender has arrived in England to complete a move to Anfield from US Orleans.
RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi wrote on Twitter: “Liverpool will sign a young promising French defender – Billy Koumetio, 16 years old.
“He played in Lyon and now in Orleans.
“He arrived in England this week.”
Sarri on Higuain
Chelsea are set to confirm the signing of Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus.
The 31-year-old travelled to England this morning to complete the switch.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri said: ”He is a very strong striker, especially in my first season at Naples. He did very very well, for sure he is one of the best strikers in my career.
“He has played four seasons with Real Madrid.
“He is the right player to play here.
“We believe he will sign the contract today.
“I hope that he will start scoring for us.
“I know he has had some difficulties at the moment, but we hope he can get back to his best form.”
Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has joined Championship strugglers Reading on loan until the end of the season.
Royals boss Jose Gomes said, “I am delighted we have been able to attract a goalkeeper of Emi’s undoubted ability to Reading. He will provide excellent competition for the goalkeeper’s position and adds quality to our group.
“I look forward to working with him on the training ground for the first time later today.”
Coutinho to Man Utd
Philippe Coutinho will not be joining Manchester United, according to Guillem Balague.
“We expected much more, the fans did, Barcelona did,” he said on the Guillem Balague Transfer Show.
“Right now he seems like a very shy player who is not making a big enough impact into games. Even though he’s given the opportunity to grow and I’m sure at some point he will certainly improve.
“But linked to that and the fact that he’s not starting the big games and not starting every game, there are stories that come out in the English press, not the Spanish press, saying Manchester United one day and Chelsea the next.
“It would be easy to guess where those stories come from. Perhaps from the same people that actually went to Barcelona and said ‘what’s happening here?’
“Those are the representatives of Coutinho trying to put pressure to Barcelona.
“Barcelona have got no intention to get rid of Coutinho.”
BARCELONA DONE DEAL

The Nou Camp giants have agreed to fork out €75m (£65m) plus €11m (£9m) in add-ons.
