Man Utd agree Pepe fee
Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
According to French publication La Voix Du Vord, the two clubs have agreed a deal worth £72m.
However, it looks like United will miss out on the Ivorian after the club’s president Gerard Lopez said Napoli were set to snap up the forward.
He said, according to Tancredi Palmeri: ”I accepted an offer of €80m for Pepe from Naples, now it’s up to the player.”
Chelsea Zaha hijack
Chelsea are plotting to hijack Everton’s move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
The winger is in high demand this summer and the Eagles want £80m to part with their talisman.
Everton and Arsenal have been chasing him but have so far been unable to meet the asking price.
Chelsea are banned from signing players until next summer but according to The Telegraph, they’re considering a late swoop to prepare for the future.
£27m Man Utd plot
Manchester United are ready to rival Tottenham for Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon, according to journalist Duncan Castles.
“I can tell you that Fulham are open to selling Sessegnon in this window if their valuation of the player is met,” Castles said on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast.
“He has one year left of contract at Fulham, however they also hold a two-year option to extend that deal.
“He’s just 19 so he could only sign a three-year contract the last time he agreed one with the club.
“Fulham are keen to get revenue in to finance their return to the Premier League.
“Fulham have been told that a number of clubs have talked to Sessegnon’s representatives about a deal.
“They understand that Manchester United, Tottenham, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig have all enquired about the possibility of taking the player, which shows the level of club that are interested in a guy who was identified as a top English talent when he broke into the Fulham team at such a young age.”
William Saliba has revealed why he chose to join Arsenal over rivals Tottenham.
“First of all, it’s a massive pleasure to sign for a really, really big English club,” he said.
“This is the biggest club in England for me, so it was an easy decision.
“I didn’t think twice about signing here, so I’m really happy.
“Well, the history, the badge… since I was little, I’ve been watching Arsenal play in the Champions League and so on.
“There are a lot of French players who have come through here. So that really helped me to make my mind up.”
