Sarri on Higuain
Maurizio Sarri has confirmed Gonzalo Higuain will soon be a Blues player.
“He is a very strong striker, especially in my first season at Naples. He did very very well, for sure he is one of the best strikers in my career,” the Italian said.
“He has played four seasons with Real Madrid.
“He is the right player to play here.
“We believe he will sign the contract today.
“I hope that he will start scoring for us.
“I know he has had some difficulties at the moment, but we hope he can get back to his best form.”
Tottenham pursue Kalinic
Tottenham could be on the verge of signing Nikola Kalinic and they have rivals Chelsea to thank for it.
Spanish publication Marca claim Tottenham have proposed a financial offer for Atletico Madrid forward Kalinic.
They claim Monaco and Valencia have also expressed interest but the biggest offer has come from north London.
And it seems Tottenham’s efforts to sign Kalinic have been helped by Chelsea sending Alvaro Morata to the La Liga club.
With Chelsea set to snap up Gonzalo Higuain on loan, Morata will have to make way and is heading to the Wanda Metropolitano.
Marca claim Kalinic is now ‘on the verge’ of leaving the Spanish club due to Morata’s incoming arrival.
Man Utd approach Perisic
Manchester United have reportedly approached Inter Milan over signing Ivan Perisic.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claim United, along with Atletico Madrid, have sounded out the winger.
However, a deal will only be made possible if Inter sign a player to replace him, with Anthony Martial named as a potential option in the report.
Reports in Italy suggest Inter could be open to selling the player having struggled this season.
However, Inter will not let him got on the cheap with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming a replacement will be needed before getting him.
PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn is also on Milan’s radar should Perisic be shown the door and Martial prove too difficult to sign.
Higuain Chelsea bound
Gonzalo Higuain appears to be on his way to Chelsea after he was spotted in the airport boarding a flight to London.
The Serie A hitman had been expected to sign for Chelsea last weekend.
However, fans may be about to get their first glimpse of Higuain in England.
Italian journalist Michael Cuomo this morning tweeted a photo of the striker in an Italian airport with the caption: “EXCLUSIVE! Gonzalo #Higuain from Milan to London #Chelsea #CFC #transfers.”
Higuain could now face Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final tomorrow evening, should he be registered before 12pm this afternoon.
Liverpool’s met with Hudson Odoi
Liverpool have entered the race to sign Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to reports.
Bayern Munich are current frontrunners for the 18-year-old’s signature after earmarking him as a long-term replacement for Arjen Robben.
But the Bundesliga champions could be unnerved by the latest developments in the transfer saga.
German publication Bild claim that Liverpool representatives met with Hudson-Odoi and his brother Bradley, who is also his agent, earlier this month.
RB Leipzig are also said to have tabled an offer for the player, however, the club are not likely to be able to meet Chelsea’s asking price.
Bergwijn eyes Man Utd
Manchester United target Steven Bergwijn is most tempted by a move to Old Trafford.
A string of Premier League rivals including Tottenham, West Ham and Bournemouth are interested in the PSV Eindhoven winger.
But Bergwijn favours a £25m move to Manchester United, according to The Sun.
Red Devils interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to snap up the 21-year-old.
Suarez to Arsenal
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is hoping to have a deal for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez wrapped up by the weekend, Starsport understands.
Barcelona sealed the surprise loan signing of Kevin-Prince Boateng on Monday that should see some midfielders depart the Nou Camp.
And Emery is now confident of being reunited with the man he coached at Sevilla five years ago as Suarez has played just 17 La Liga minutes this term.
The Gunners are also looking to offload Aaron Ramsey to Juventus this month instead of the summer.
