Juventus plot Man Utd ‘dream’
Juventus are ready to axe three key stars to fund their summer transfer business.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, sporting director Fabio Paratici is prepared to ditch three Douglas Costa, Miralem Pjanic and Paulo Dybala, while he also hopes to sell Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan at Chelsea.
The report claims Juve are considering a move for Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, as well as Bayern Munich duo Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng, as they seek reinforcements at the back.
But their priority target, and Paratici’s ‘dream’, is a homecoming for Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
And while they understand a move is unlikely, they feel they may be able to compete if they can raise the funds through player sales.
Tottenham name Eriksen price
Real Madrid have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.
Zinedine Zidane has identified the playmaker as the man to reignite his stagnant midfield as he plots a summer rebuild.
But he could be priced out of a move after Daniel Levy slapped a £140m valuation on Eriksen.
According to Football Insider, the Spurs chief sees Eriksen in the same category as Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho and he’s ready to play hard ball in the transfer market.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season but that doesn’t mean Levy is prepared to let his top players go for less than what he feels they’re worth.
Grealish to Villa
Aston Villa star Jack Grealish is ‘probably’ going to join Tottenham this summer.
The playmaker has been outstanding in his side’s promotion push and former Leeds striker Noel Whelan can see the deal finally going through.
“You can see it happening,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“It’s been on the cards for a while and Spurs nearly got him last summer.
“I think he’ll join Spurs soon enough, and probably this summer.”
Eriksen to Man Utd
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen as his No.1 summer target.
The Norwegian is desperate to rebuild his squad and will target a number of stars ahead of next season.
According to the Evening Standard, United are plotting a £60m bid for the playmaker.
But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would prefer to sell Eriksen to Real Madrid rather than a direct rival.
Pogba refuses to sign
Real Madrid are confident of landing Paul Pogba after he refused to sign visa forms for Manchester United’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The midfielder made it clear earlier this season that it is a ‘dream’ to play under Zinedine Zidane at Real.
Pogba has reportedly been in advanced talks over a switch to the Bernabeu.
And speculation over a move has increased, according to the Sun, after he snubbed the required documenation for the tour.
Liverpool to sign three?
Jamie Carragher has backed Liverpool to sign three players this summer in order to surpass title rivals Manchester City.
“(Liverpool’s midfield) still maybe lacks something that have Man City have,” he said.
“They have probably two or three options – the two Silvas [David and Bernardo], Kevin De Bruyne. Liverpool don’t really have that type of player.
“It will be interesting if that’s the one player Jurgen Klopp tries to add maybe to his first XI in the summer. He’s actually said in his press conference on Thursday that there wouldn’t be too many signings coming in.
“But you’d still expect two or three to come in. And I do feel someone with that extra something in midfield may be part of that.”
