For us here at Old Trafford Faithful, a Manchester United move for Jadon Sancho is starting to feel like a case of when rather than if.
Just before the weekend, we covered a story from the Evening Standard in which it was claimed that the Red Devils were leading the chase to sign the Englishman.
Yesterday evening, we were given another huge boost in pursuit of Sancho. The story comes from Ken Lawrence in the Irish Independent – who has gone bold…
According to their piece, the world-class starlet Sancho has ‘unofficially confirmed’ that he will join United, with the Reds not put off by the huge €130m (£116m) price-tag on the Englishman’s head.
Sancho, who turned 20 just last week, has been tearing up the Bundesliga ever since completing his move from Manchester City. Now, though, it seems he’s ready to return back to the North West’s greatest city – but this time he’ll be wearing red.
What’s even more intriguing is that Sancho has apparently been promised the iconic number 7 jersey at the Theatre of Dreams, and the move will happen regardless of whether United have Champions League football on the table or not.
Huge wages will undoubtedly play their part, too, with a deal worth £400,000-a-week on the table should he keep improving over the next couple of campaigns.
His pal Marcus Rashford is also getting involved, with the striker telling Solskjaer that Sancho is ‘decent’ and dependable, while Sancho very much likes the idea of what Solskjaer is putting together upon Salford Quays.
At this point, I can’t help but feel excited. Sancho and Rashford in the same team, with Bruno Fernandes sitting in-behind them delivering the passes certainly gets the excitement building…
