Manchester United’s playing squad is a talented one; although it still has some major holes.
This summer is massively important for whoever the next permanent manager is, and it seems as though the club are already trying to make moves in the transfer market.
Now, in an exclusive from The Sun, it is being claimed that United can sign 29-year-old midfielder Toni Kroos from Real Madrid; in a deal worth £50million.
Apparently, Kroos is keen to reignite his career elsewhere this summer, after a poor season with Los Blancos. Old Trafford could well be the perfect platform for the classy German.
It was five years ago when United tried to sign Kroos under David Moyes. That deal eventually fell through and the midfielder moved to the Spanish capital instead. Now, the Red Devils could make their move for a brilliant player.
Kroos would bring balance to our midfield, there’s no doubt about that. He has a great eye for a pass, is positionally excellent and will chip in with a few goals too. He’d be perfect sitting in alongside Paul Pogba with a more defensive-minded player in behind the pair, and for £50million, it seems like a move worth making.
He may well be reaching that stage in his career where decline in performance is inevitable, but this United squad needs experience and Kroos brings that in abundance.
