Manchester United are in somewhat of a predicament when it comes to player contracts.
Some guys are entering their last year with no long-term deal being signed yet. Amongst those are David de Gea and Ander Herrera. Yesterday, a report surfaced suggesting that the latter was to leave Old Trafford and move to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the Manchester Evening News are now reporting that the above rumour is way off the mark.
Apparently, United are hopeful that the 29-year-old will agree to a new contract at the club, while the players’ camp also expect Herrera to stay put.
Recently, the Basque has turned into a key player for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s high tempo style – that was before the dreaded injury curse struck.
It’s great to hear that he’s probably going to stay at Old Trafford though as we’re certainly lacking in depth in that area of the field. Even if he’s not going to start every week, we all know that Herrera’s good enough to slot into the side and put in a solid performance.
Hopefully, both parties can come to an agreement in the not too distant future and put all these rumours regarding a move away to rest.
