For Manchester United, the upcoming summer transfer window is huge. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (if he’s given the job permanently) must be backed heavily.
This squad needs new signings if they’re to fight it out for multiple trophies. Alongside that, though, the club must keep ahold of the stars who have contracts winding down.
Amongst those is Ander Herrera. Now, in an exclusive from The Sun, it is being claimed the Basque-born midfielder will leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.
Apparently, the 29-year-old looked set to stay after an upturn in form under Solskjaer, but now, Paris Saint-Germain have swooped in and offered a £150,000-a-week, three-year deal to Herrera.
PSG hold all the cards as they can offer a hefty weekly wage due to a lack of transfer fee which means United are somewhat powerless. It’s now up to Herrera to decide where his future lies.
Obviously, we’d all love for him to stay. He has a unique skill-set and before his injury, Herrera had become a key member of the starting line-up.
The Old Trafford crowd love him and they’d dearly want him to stick around, but United have to blamed for the failure to tie him down to a new long-term deal. At this juncture, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him walk away – which would be a massive shame.
