The Bundesliga giants were dumped out of the Champions League by Liverpool last week and the result sent warning signs that their squad is no longer good enough to compete in Europe.
Veteran wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery will leave the club at the end of the season and Bayern will need fresh talent to provide service for Robert Lewandowski.
The Germans targeted Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi in January and they’re set to revisit their interest at the end of the season.
And the winger could be joined by England team-mate Jadon Sancho, who is attracting interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Borussia Dortmund star is being eyed by Manchester United, who are prepared to splash out £100m to bring him to Old Trafford.
But Bayern have form for poaching Dortmund’s best players having previously snapped up the likes of Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels.
And former coach Andries Jonker admits Bayern are monitoring Sancho’s situation.
The revelation comes amid the news that:
“Bayern Munich are interested.”
Former Bayern coach Andries Jonker
“He’s a huge talent, everybody knew that,” Jonker said.
“In Germany he is confirming his huge talent, it’s no surprise, you knew it.
“He needed that time to practice, to get the level, the power the strength and to handle the situation.
“He’s being seen as some kind of sensation because he’s just 18 years old and playing for Borussia Dortmund.
“Bayern Munich are interested, which is a huge thing. Just 18 years old and that good.”
Hudson-Odoi has been starved of game time and he’ll likely be keen for a move to Bayern.
And it would no doubt benefit the national team if he was playing week in week out alongside Sancho.
The pair starred for the Three Lions during their under-17 World Cup win in 2017.
