Manchester United Football Club took the bold decision to sign Odion Ighalo on a short-term loan deal.
Fans, as expected, weren’t best pleased. Well, after four goals in three starts, the Nigerian has been brilliant to watch. His hold-up play, strength and goal-scoring prowess is of an extremely high level, which is much more than we expected.
Earlier today, we covered a story from The Mirror, in which it was claimed that Ighalo would cost £15million to sign on a permanent basis from Shanghai Shenhua.
For me, that’s a no-brainer. United should get that deal done as soon as possible, and they’re going to get help from the player himself, too.
According to the Sun on Sunday, United actually have an option to buy the 30-year-old as part of his loan deal, while Ighalo himself is ready to half his wages to make the Reds switch permanent.
Ighalo is currently on a £240,000-a-week wage at Shanghai Shenhua. If the terms are agreed upon, the striker would be earning roughly £120,000-per-week at Old Trafford.
At this point, it seems certain (to me) that a move will be made. United have been super-impressed with what Ighalo has offered. He brings a different dimension to the table, while the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and others, can definitely learn from him.
