Antonio Valencia was a wonderful servant to Manchester United.
His ten+ years at Old Trafford will always be remembered fondly, with the man from Ecuador even captaining the Red Devils at one point.
Anyway, his time at United sadly came to an end this summer as the club decided to release the now 33-year-old.
Personally, I always felt he’d head back to South America and finish his career closer to home, but according to the Daily Mail, Valencia has been offered the chance to stay in the Premier League.
Apparently, Sheffield United are amongst the clubs who have made a contract offer to Valencia, with the right-back still deciding on where his future lies.
If he does make a switch to The Blades, he could be spending next season with United loanee Dean Henderson, who is expected to head back to Sheffield United for at least another twelve months.
It would be pretty weird seeing him play for another Premier League side, but if Valencia still feels he can perform in the toughest division in the world, then why not stay here and try help Sheffield United remain in the top-flight?
Wherever he ends up, the Old Trafford faithful will wish him well because he always gave absolutely everything for the badge on his chest and that’s all us fans ever ask for.
