Manchester United’s August was, shall we say, mixed…
Ole Gunnar Solskajer kicked things off with an impeccable 4-0 victory at home to Chelsea – though what happened since then was rather disappointing.
The shining light, without doubt, was the new signings. Yesterday, Daniel James was presented the August Player of the Month award by Patrice Evra – with the Frenchman giving a wonderful speech to the young Welshman.
Shortly after, James took to Twitter to post a photo of himself, all-smiles with the trophy, and sending a heartfelt message to the fans who voted for him.
Our £15million man is just such a likeable guy, isn’t he? James plays with a passion, a pride, a determination that we’ve been lacking in over the last few seasons.
To have someone like him, particularly as he’s so young, leading by example is brilliant. James knows what it means to play for that special shirt he’s wearing, and it’s absolutely wonderful to have a player we all want to root for.
Hopefully, this is just the start for James. As he becomes more accustomed to life in the Premier League, you’d expect to see even better from the young man who has scored three in four league games so far.
