Manchester United’s first month of the 2019/20 campaign is in the books, with the Red Devils struggling for the most part.
However, we can take some positives away. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s three signings have all made a positive impression – giving us something we can build upon.
In fact, the newest trio of Reds players all competed to win the August Player of the Month award. For me, there was only one winner and it’d be Daniel James who’d come up trumps.
After returning from international duty, James has now received the award – handed to him in person by none other than Patrice Evra.
In typical fashion, the fun-loving Frenchman gave a great speech to James, before ending things with his usual (brilliant) catchphrase. He really does love this game!
Although Evra laughs and jokes, he’s right with what he says. You can see it in his play, James loves playing for this club and playing for his teammates.
Aged just 21 and a new signing, he’s leading by example within that dressing room, and it’s why I believe Solskjaer will have success here given time. He’s a manager who knows how important the dressing room can be, and he knows what he’s doing in the transfer market.
Congratulations again, Daniel! Well deserved.
